How to replace a PCV valve
A bad PCV valve can be one possible cause of oil leak. On a 2005 2.4L PT Cruiser, Chrysler recommends that PCV valve should be inspected after 60,000 miles and after 90,000 miles of driving. As it is inexpensive and easy to remove, I suggest you to replace it at one of these intervals.
What you need to replace a PCV valve on a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser:
A new PCV Valve: Mopar 4777240AD PCV Valve Or FRAM FV405 PCV Valve Or Omix-Ada 17404.11 PCV Valve |

A 24mm Wrench |
In the next picture, you can see the valve location:
Remove the hose:
With a 24mm wrench, unscrew the old valve.
Screw the new valve.
Put the hose back.
Voilà, it’s done.
I have 2005 Limited Turbo PT Cruiser. PCV valve is elbow shaped. Tips on removal? Thanks.
